Woman Tries to Hit Grocery Store Employee with Car

Woman Tries to Hit Grocery Store Employee with CarA 27-year-old woman is in custody after allegedly attempting to run over a Martin’s Food employee in Eldersburg on August 14, 2019. According to the store employee, the woman entered the store, filled a cart and some bags with groceries, and then left without paying. When he confronted her in the parking lot, she attempted to run him over with the car she was driving. She missed, but crashed into a parked car in the parking lot and fled.

The employee took a picture of the vehicle’s license plate and called police, who tracked down the owner in the 7400 block in Sykesville. The owner admitted that the woman lived there. She was arrested and charged with a number of other violations, including first-degree and second assault, theft, reckless driving, and driving without a license.

Baltimore Police Arrest Man for Attempted Homicide of Police OfficerA 35-year-old Baltimore man is in custody after be arrested for firing shots at a Baltimore police officer on Thursday, August 15. Officers say the defendant was walking in the middle of the road around 2:30 am, near the intersection of Marglenn and Springwood in Overlea, carrying a handgun. After being ordered to put his hands up, the defendant fled, with the officer in pursuit. As the pursuing officer took cover behind a vehicle, the defendant fired a shot. Another officer then apprehended the defendant. Police found two loaded handguns on the scene, as well as the casing from the fired bullet.
